Hp Ink Tank Wireless 415
Linux

Hello everybody,

I have been having for some time an issue with my Ink Tank Wireless 415 printer. I am not sure how to describe it most accurately but issue is that when I turn on the printer and try to print something, the first page always fails to print. The paper goes almost halfway in the tray and it gets stuck. However, when the paper gets stuck, the printer continues to act normally like there is paper inside and prints on thin air. I get no errors when the print job is done. After that, everything works fine and all other documents or images get printed just fine. If I turn the printer off and the I turn it on back again, the same issue occurs. I tried cleaning the cartridges with cleaning tool on HP app and tried to reset it by unplugging it and plugging it on again. My PC operating system is Linux Mint 19.3. Also tried to print on my laptop which has Windows 10 and also on 2 android phones but the same issue occurs on these devices too. I hope that my issue is understandable and I would really appreciate your help in solving this irritating issue. Let me know if I need to provide more details. Thank you in advance

@Aidas1994, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone copy of more than 2 pages and check if that works fine. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Win PC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue on Win PC

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

Try printing different types of document and check the result.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi @Kumar0307,

I tried printing a standalone document with more than two pages and strangely enough, everything worked just fine. I tried printing a few single documents afterwards and they got printed fine as well. Then I shut down my printer and tried to print a single page document. Everything worked fine. Tested on win10 laptop and phone app. Will test on Linux pc in the near future. So I guess the printer only needed to print a multiple page document to fix itself up.

Thank you very much for offering a solution. I will write again if the printer decides to stop working properly again.

Have a wonderful day and stay safe and healthy
