Hi @Crystaldaen,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 8015e OfficeJet All-in-One printer's feeder doesn't work when scanning but works fine when copying, it could be due to several reasons. Here's a troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue.

  • Check Feeder Alignment: Ensure that the documents or pages you're trying to scan are properly aligned within the feeder tray. Misaligned papers can cause feeding issues during scanning.
  • Clean Feeder Rollers: Dust, debris, or residue from previous scans can accumulate on the feeder rollers, causing them to slip or fail to pick up pages. Use a clean, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently wipe the feeder rollers.
  • Adjust Feeder Settings: Sometimes, the scanner settings may need adjustments. Open your scanning software or the HP Smart app on your computer, and ensure that the correct input source (ADF/Feeder) is selected for scanning.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause various issues, including scanning problems. Make sure your printer drivers are up-to-date by visiting the HP support website and downloading/installing the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Reset Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve many printer issues. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Firmware updates can address known issues and improve the performance of your printer. Check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.
  • Perform a Test Scan: Try scanning a single page using the feeder to see if the issue persists. If it fails, note any error messages displayed on the printer or computer screen, as they can provide clues about the underlying problem.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the scanning issue with the feeder on your HP 8015e OfficeJet All-in-One printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
