HP OfficeJet 9012e All-in-One Printer

I have a paper jam in HP OJ 9012e which has no rear door access. I cannot visualize the paper at all. I know the paper is still in there. I can print but the print copy will come out with gaps in the copy, i am assuming from passing across the jammed paper in the rear of the printer. How do I access the rear of the printer to clear the jam?

@Jeanette52, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing a paper jam in your HP OfficeJet 9012e printer and unable to access it through the rear, follow these steps to try clearing the jam:

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Power off the printer by pressing the power button. If it doesn’t turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Unplug the Printer:

  • Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet to ensure safety.

Open the Front Door:

  • Open the cartridge access door. This typically allows access to the paper path and might help you spot any jammed paper.
    Open the cartridge access door

Inspect the Input and Output Trays:

  • Remove the paper from the input and output trays. Check for any jammed paper in these areas.

Check the Print Zone:

  • If the print carriage is accessible, move it to the right or left and look for any stuck pieces of paper in the print zone.
Moving the print carriage to the right

Remove Jammed Paper Carefully:

  • If you find any jammed paper, gently remove it using both hands to avoid tearing.

Reassemble and Reset:

  • Close all doors and trays and reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and perform a test print to check if the issue is resolved.

Run a Full Printer Reset:

  • If the issue persists, perform a full printer reset by disconnecting the power cord, waiting for a minute, and then reconnecting it.
