Hi @Ken623

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry this has persisted despite your efforts. You’ve clearly done a lot already, and I truly appreciate your patience.

If your HP DeskJet 2800 series printer pulls paper off-centre and jams halfway, even when no visible jam is found, the issue is likely with the paper feed alignment or internal rollers. Let’s guide you through a deeper inspection and reset to help restore smooth printing.

Step-by-step actions to resolve hidden paper jams and misfeeds

  1. Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall.

  2. Remove all paper from the input tray and inspect the tray guides:
    • Make sure the paper width guides are snug but not tight.
    • Avoid overfilling the tray—use only 10–20 sheets of clean, flat paper.

  3. Open the ink cartridge access door and gently check inside:
    • Use a flashlight to inspect for small scraps of paper or foreign objects.
    • Look for any misaligned rollers or plastic tabs that may be obstructing the path.

  4. Check underneath the printer:
    • Tilt the printer slightly and inspect the bottom for trapped paper or debris.
    • If accessible, gently clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.

  5. Reset the printer:
    • Unplug the power cord and wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and turn on the printer.

  6. Try printing a test page from the HP App:
    • Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device.
    • Select your printer > Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Print Test Page.

You can follow a visual guide here that walks through jam clearing and roller cleaning for your printer series:
Fix Paper Jam – HP DeskJet 2800 Series

If the paper still skews or jams, the issue may be with worn rollers or internal alignment. Let me know how the printer behaves after these steps—I’ll be here to guide you further if needed. You’re doing everything right by staying persistent.
