My printer started printing with error (jam?) when asked to print more than one page. Symptom is slow start with humming noise (while printing), and it kicks out one empty paper right after printing this piano pattern. I am worried that it might be wasting the ink unnecessarily. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall the driver.
