Hi @HarLovasIT,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Smart Tank 520 is experiencing paper jams, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue:

  • Turn Off the Printer: Switch off the printer and unplug it from the power source to avoid any accidents.
  • Open the Printer Cover: Carefully open the printer’s top cover to access the paper path.
  • Remove Jammed Paper: Gently pull out any visible paper that's stuck. Be careful not to tear the paper. If you can’t see the paper, look for any paper stuck in the rollers or other parts of the printer.
  • Check for Small Pieces: Ensure no small pieces of paper are left inside the printer, as these can cause additional jams.
  • Inspect the Rollers: Look at the rollers inside the printer. They should be clean and free of debris. If they appear dirty, gently clean them with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
  • Check Paper Tray: Make sure the paper tray is correctly loaded with paper and that the paper guides are properly adjusted to the paper size.
  • Reinsert Paper: Reload the paper into the tray, ensuring it's not overfilled and the paper guides are snug against the edges of the paper.
  • Close the Printer Cover: Securely close the printer’s top cover.
  • Plug in and Restart: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Run Printer Diagnostics: If your printer has a built-in diagnostic feature, run it to check if the issue persists.
