HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HPLaserJet Pro P1102w printer won't draw paper completely through print process.  I had recently completed printing 30 pages or so, and then went back a few hours later to print.  Printer draws paper part way then stops.

Hi @ELANGEJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer is having trouble feeding paper properly, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Paper Tray and Alignment:

  • Make sure the paper stack in the tray is aligned properly and not overloaded. Ensure it's within the recommended paper capacity for your printer model.
  • Adjust the paper guides in the tray to fit snugly against the edges of the paper stack.

Inspect Paper Path:

  • Open the printer's top cover and check for any paper jams or obstructions along the paper path. Remove any stuck paper carefully.
  • Verify there are no torn pieces of paper or debris inside the printer that could be obstructing the paper path.

Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and try printing again to see if the issue is resolved. This can sometimes clear temporary errors.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size and type settings in the printer driver match the paper you are using. Incorrect settings can cause feeding issues.
  • Adjust the settings in your computer's print dialog box to match the paper type and size loaded in the tray.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Over time, paper dust and debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers, causing them to slip. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water.
  • Gently wipe the rollers to remove any dirt or buildup. Avoid applying too much pressure, as this could damage the rollers.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve feeding issues by improving printer performance.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the paper feeding issue with your HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
