HP ENVY 4527 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

When I try to print photos to 10 x 15 colour inkjet praper the resulting image is not aligned to the centre of the paper even though the preview before printing shows the photo is correctly aligned.

Printing to A4 paper works perfectly.

I have experienced similar problems on other HP printers which I have replaced in desperation, and I do not want to replace this one.

Hi @Westcott,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing photo print alignment issues with your HP ENVY 4527, try running a printhead alignment from the printer's control panel or software, and if that doesn't solve the problem, consider cleaning the printheads.

Here's a more.

1. Perform a Printhead Alignment:

From the Control Panel:

  • Touch "Settings" on the control panel.
  • Touch "Printer Maintenance"
  • Touch "Align Printhead" and then "Continue"
  • An alignment page will print; follow any on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.

From the Printer Software:

  • Open the printer software or HP Smart app.
  • Go to "Maintenance" or "Tools"
  • Select "Align Printhead" or "Printhead Alignment"
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. Clean the Printheads:

From the Control Panel:

  • Touch "Settings" on the control panel.
  • Touch "Printer Maintenance"
  • Touch "Clean Print Cartridges" or "Clean Printhead"
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

From the Printer Software:

  • Open the printer software or HP Smart app.
  • Go to "Maintenance" or "Tools"
  • Select "Clean Print Cartridges" or "Clean Printhead"
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Check Paper Settings:

  • Ensure you're using the correct paper type and size for photo printing.
  • Check the paper tray is loaded correctly and that the paper is not crumpled or damaged.

Hi @Westcott,

Thank you for reaching back, I do understand the issue, and the steps shared to align the printhead do help to fix the issue, however request you to please let me know the below details so I can find more help.

I understand the printer is not printing the complete photo on 10x15 photo paper. Not to worry, I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

Are you using an HP Photo paper?

Have you tried printing from another device?

Have you tried copying a photo on a 10x15 photo paper?

Are you printing using AirPrint or HP Smart App?

Let me know
