I changed the size of my paper tray. I cannot get the grey cover that extends the length of the paper tray back on the paper tray. The paper tray does go back in without the cover.

Hi @Quest3,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're having trouble reattaching the grey cover to the paper tray of your HP 8025e printer. Here are some general steps that might help you with reattaching the cover.

  • Make sure the paper tray is in the correct position: Ensure that the paper tray is fully inserted into the printer in the correct orientation.
  • Align the cover correctly: The cover should have tabs or grooves that match up with corresponding slots on the paper tray. Make sure these are aligned properly before attempting to snap the cover back into place.
  • Apply even pressure: When attaching the cover, apply even pressure along the length of the cover. This helps to engage any locking mechanisms or tabs that hold it in place.
  • Check for obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or foreign objects blocking the cover or the paper tray. Sometimes, an obstruction can prevent proper alignment.
  • Inspect for damage: Check the cover and the paper tray for any visible damage that might be preventing them from fitting together correctly.
  • Refer to the printer manual: If you're still having trouble, it's a good idea to refer to the printer's manual. The manual usually provides detailed instructions on how to assemble and disassemble various parts of the printer.

Remember to be gentle but firm when reattaching the cover to avoid causing any damage. If you have the printer manual, it should have specific instructions for this process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
