Hi @Wilson1948,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reinstall a piece of the paper feed mechanism on your HP Envy 6455e printer, follow these steps.

  • Turn Off and Unplug the Printer: Ensure the printer is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet to avoid any risk of electric shock or damage.
  • Access the Paper Feed Area: Open the printer’s paper input tray and any other access panels that may provide access to the paper feed mechanism. You may need to remove any paper or other obstructions.
  • Locate the Piece that Fell Out: Identify the piece that fell out. This is usually part of the paper feed assembly, such as a roller or a guide. Look for its corresponding location in the printer.
  • Align the Piece: Position the piece in the correct alignment with the slots or mounting points in the paper feed mechanism. It should fit snugly into place.
  • Reinstall the Piece: Carefully insert the piece into its designated slot or position. If it has any locking mechanisms, ensure they are properly engaged.
  • Check for Proper Placement: Make sure the piece is securely installed and that no other parts are obstructing its movement. You should be able to move it slightly to ensure it's seated correctly.
  • Close the Access Panels: Close any access panels or the paper input tray that you opened earlier.
  • Plug in and Test the Printer: Plug the printer back into the electrical outlet and turn it on. Run a test print or scan to ensure the paper feed mechanism is functioning properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

So far the solution offered has not  helped. The most troublesome part is what I presume is a paper guide--off white in color, curved, 8 1/2 inches long, about 1 1/2 inch wide at widest point, with slots to fit around the rollers. I see no way to attach it to the roller assembly or to the body of the printer. I do not see any tabs or slots.

I have the same problem I took out the two pieces that fit over the wheels and I cannot get them to line up to close the lid.

I have the exact same issue. The white piece under the flip gate came off. I need to put the white piece back in first and I can’t figure it out. Then put the flip gate bank on and the final piece. Can you please contact me directly with the solution or send me a video solution?
