I purchased a Smart Tank 7600, out of the box I received the ADF Jam error. I've taken every step defined to clear paper, wipe rollers, change paper type, clean and clear tray, etc.. etc. The error will go away from time to time for one or two prints then display again.

Hi @Extremezx9

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) jam error on your HP Smart Tank 7600 despite taking all the recommended steps, here are some additional troubleshooting measures you can try:

1. Double-Check for Paper Debris:

  • Carefully inspect the ADF for any small pieces of paper or debris that may be causing the jam. Even tiny bits can trigger the error.

2. Check the ADF Path:

  • Open the ADF cover and check the paper path for any obstructions. Ensure that the rollers are clean and that nothing is blocking the feed mechanism.

3. Inspect the ADF Rollers:

  • The rollers should be free of dust and grime. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean them. Avoid using any harsh chemicals.

4. Test with Different Paper:

  • Sometimes specific types or sizes of paper can cause feeding issues. Try using different paper or even a fresh ream to see if that resolves the error.

5. Check Paper Alignment:

  • Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the ADF. The paper guides should be snug against the edges of the stack without being too tight.

6. Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 10 minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset internal errors.

7. Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

8. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help diagnose and resolve various printer issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
