HP OfficeJet Pro 9014 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

Title says it all, I snapped the encoder strip of my HP officejet pro 9014 - the left side of the encoder when facing the printer. he right side is still attached.

The little hook at the end of the encoder is broken and the metal hook it is normally attached to fell inside the printer. I read that you could "redo" the encoder hook with strong tape so I will give this a try. Also found a how to open the printer with torx screwdrivers.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Ingelette

Yes I can confirm that in some cases using duct tape to rebuild the end of the strip can resolve the issue.

Thanks for your Reply Repairatrooper,

the encoder strip is totaly ok it does not need any duct-tape-operations. I am missing the hook on th left( standing in front of the printer) hand side to hang up the strip.

Thank you all for your help

I see, probably stuck somewhere inside, always a challenge to find. You state you have been able to open the printer so you are just going to have to search high and low. It is unlikely that HP has a part like that available. Maybe you could jury rig something with a bent paperclip.
