The HP Laserjet M607/608/609 owned by the university I work at has a Tray 3 high-capacity base, but upon receiving and loading it the tray lifted a bit then made a grinding sound, a loud pop, then extremely loud grinding. I immediately opened up the tray to unload it and found a hanging cable.
It appears that the cable is not involved in any wiring purposes (isn't an electronics cable) and is simply used to level out the paper tray. The cable in question in shown below:
How would I go about replacing this cable, and where would I purchase it? I do not believe the printer is under warranty anymore because the issue arose immediately before the pandemic shutdowns (and I emailed my supervisor) but due to the shutdowns I believe no repair request was generated.

Hello,
The string in the image looks like it has been dislodge from the tray assembly. Hope it is not broken. If in case its broken then you may have to replace the tray. However to fix the string in to its designated place is not easy over phone or a chat. Hence I'd suggest you to get in touch with ASP.
