Does the HPOfficeJet8015e have a paper tray extender?  If so, could I get assistance in how to find/set it up please?

Thank you.

Hi @SherriLM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP OfficeJet 8015e does come with a paper tray extender to accommodate larger paper sizes and help manage printed documents. Here are the steps to find and set up the paper tray extender:

Locate the Paper Tray: The paper tray is usually at the bottom of the printer. Pull it out gently.

Find the Extender: Inside the paper tray, there should be a mechanism or a part that can be pulled out to extend the tray. This is often a plastic piece that slides out or flips open.

Extend the Tray: Pull out or slide the extender carefully until it locks into place. Make sure it's fully extended to support the paper size you intend to use.

Load the Paper: Adjust the paper width guides to fit the size of the paper you are using. Then load the paper into the tray, ensuring it's properly aligned.

Adjust Printer Settings: On the printer's control panel or in the printer settings on your computer, ensure that the paper size matches what you have loaded. This can usually be done through the printer’s touchscreen or via the printer settings on your connected device.

If you need a visual guide, the user manual of the HP OfficeJet 8015e typically includes detailed instructions and illustrations. You can find the manual online on the HP Support website by searching for your printer model.

Here's a brief summary from the user manual for setting up the paper tray extender:

  • Remove the input tray: Pull out the input tray from the printer.
  • Extend the input tray: Locate the paper length guide at the front edge of the tray and pull it outward to extend the tray.
  • Adjust the guides: Slide the paper width guides outward to make room for the paper.
  • Load paper: Place the paper stack into the tray, then slide the paper width guides inward until they rest against the edges of the paper.
  • Reinsert the tray: Push the input tray back into the printer until it clicks into place.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
