I understand you would like to know the paper handling specification for your HP ENVY 4500 E-All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
So to answer your questions: The thickness of the paper depends on the paper type, example for plain paper supports up to 20lbs.
