Hi @Sorin81

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printed pages are coming out with a yellow background and no visible text, it could be due to several issues related to the ink cartridges, printer settings, or hardware malfunctions. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and fix the problem:

1. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Low or Empty Ink Cartridge: If one or more ink cartridges are low or empty, it can cause print issues such as faded or incorrect colors.
    • Solution: Open the printer and check the ink levels through the printer display screen or by using the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
    • If you find any low or empty cartridges, replace them with new ones. If your printer uses color ink cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow), make sure all colors are installed properly.

2. Clean the Printhead

  • A clogged printhead can result in poor printing quality, such as missing text or strange background colors.
    • Solution: Most printers have a built-in cleaning function to clean the printhead. Here’s how to do it:
      • On your printer's control panel, look for Settings > Maintenance or Tools.
      • Select the Clean Printhead option.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions. After cleaning, try printing again to see if the problem is resolved.

3. Check for Incorrect Paper Settings

  • If the wrong paper type is selected, it can affect print quality, especially for color printing.
    • Solution: Go to Printer Settings on your computer and ensure that the correct paper size and type (e.g., plain paper, glossy paper) are selected. Sometimes, selecting "Photo Paper" or another type might cause color issues.

4. Check Printer Color Settings

  • If the color settings in the printer are incorrect or if you are using a setting designed for photo printing, the output might be wrong.
    • Solution: On your computer, go to the Print Settings and make sure the printer is set to print in the correct color mode (not in grayscale or draft mode).
    • Ensure that the color balance is set correctly (i.e., not biased toward yellow).

I hope this helps.
