how to unlock lid 90153

Cannot get printer lid to open.  Something is latched and I need to lift the lid to access paper jam.

Make sure you lift the document feeder and scanner at the same time. The document feeder must be closed down, and you lift the scanner and feeder at the same time.

Thank you, but that was not the issue.  The front cover was open, but the scanner assembly lid was just ... locked.  Many (gentle) attempts.  And photo paper was jammed and the cartridge carriage was stuck.  Could not get access to pull out the paper.

After many rounds of power-down-unplug-replug-power-up, and gentle pulling up and down, the cover finally released.  

Paper cartridge also always locks up abnormally.  Have to wait for it to unlock to be able to add paper or change paper color.
