Hi @YoungMansGhost,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To clear the jammed envelope from your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer, follow these steps.
Turn Off the Printer
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source to avoid any electrical issues while removing the jam.
Check the Input Tray
- Remove any remaining paper or envelopes from the input tray.
- Inspect the tray to see if the envelope is visible and accessible.
Remove the Output Tray
- If necessary, remove the output tray to gain better access to the paper path.
Open the Printer's Front Access Door
- Open the front access door or duplexer (if equipped) to inspect the inside of the printer. This will give you access to the rollers and paper path where the envelope might be stuck.
Gently Remove the Envelope
- If the envelope is visible, gently pull it out using both hands. Be careful not to tear the envelope or leave any fragments inside the printer.
Check the Rear Access Panel (if applicable)
- If your model has a rear access panel or door, open it to check if the envelope is stuck in the back of the printer. Remove it carefully if present.
Check for Any Remaining Paper Fragments
- Inspect the printer for any small pieces of paper or envelope that might have torn during the jam. Even small fragments can cause future jams or printing issues.
Close All Doors and Power On
- After ensuring the envelope and any fragments are removed, close all access doors.
- Plug the printer back in and power it on.
Test Print
- Try printing a test page or a regular sheet of paper to ensure the printer is functioning properly.
Tips for Printing #10 Envelopes:
- Place the envelope correctly: Ensure the envelope is loaded according to the printer's instructions, usually face up or down with the flap on the correct side.
- Adjust the guides properly: Make sure the alignment guides are snug against the envelope without bending it.
- Check the printer settings: When printing an envelope, select the correct paper size (#10 envelope) in the print settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
