I have a new printer.
And I ytried for the fisrt time to print a photograph,
I put two photographs on an A4 sheet of photo paper, and the result is as in th epicture below.
Tried it for the third time, but I have the same result.
I use common photo paper. No HP paper.
THe paper guides are not too tight against the paper.
Realy don't know how I can resolve the problem.
Maybe there is someone that has solved the same problem.
Thank you for your attention.

Hi @David15952

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details and trying multiple times already—it’s clear you’ve been patient and observant. Since the image isn’t visible here, I’ll guide you through the most likely causes and solutions to help your photo prints come out beautifully aligned and clean.

When printing photos, especially on non-HP photo paper, a few subtle factors can affect how the printer feeds and aligns the paper. Let’s walk through a few steps to gently fine-tune your setup and get the results you’re aiming for.

Check Paper Orientation and Type Settings

  • Ensure the print side of the photo paper is facing down (for rear-feed printers) or facing up (for front-feed printers).
  • In the HP App or your print dialog box:
    • Select Paper Type as Photo Paper or Other Glossy Inkjet Papers.
    • Choose Paper Size as A4.
    • Set Print Quality to Best.

Align the Printhead

  • On the printer’s control panel or via the HP App:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead or Align Printer.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.
  • This helps correct skewed or misaligned prints, especially on new printers.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Dust or coating from photo paper can cause feed slippage.
  • Open the rear access door or input tray (depending on your model).
  • Gently clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Let them dry for 10 minutes before printing again.

Use One Sheet at a Time

  • Load only one sheet of photo paper at a time.
  • Make sure the paper is flat and not curled or bent.
  • Adjust the paper width guides so they touch the edges of the paper without bending it.

Try a Different Layout

  • If you’re placing two photos on one A4 sheet, ensure the layout is centered and not too close to the paper edges.
  • Use the HP App to create a photo collage or layout to ensure proper margins and scaling.

Test with Plain Paper

  • Try printing the same layout on plain A4 paper to check if the issue is with the feed or the photo paper surface.

If the issue continues, you might want to try a different brand of photo paper or test with HP photo paper to compare results. Some common photo papers have coatings that can interfere with feed rollers or ink absorption.

Let me know if you’d like help adjusting the layout in the HP App or checking your printer’s maintenance settings. We’ll get your prints looking just the way you imagined.
