HP OFFICEJET 7300/7400 hp envy 5000

Thank you very much to the people who replied to my question of how to open the back of my printer to solve a paper jam.

PH Officejet 7300/7400

HP ENVY 5000 Series

I now know there is no way into the back.  So how do I get in?   someone suggested through the ink cartridge path.   What and where is that?    Do I take out something called the carriage ..... The thick User Guide unfortunately does not explain any these things.

I now cannot do my work without a printer so am a loss at what to do.

Thanks for reading this.

Hi @AT111,

I'd like to help!

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Try the steps in the document to resolve the error - ENVY 5000 Printers - Paper Jam Error, and A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Officejet 7200, 7300, and 7400 Printer Series

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
