HP ENVY 5055 ALL  IN ONE PRINTER: Paper is crumpling up and not printing.

Hi @CRR1937

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP ENVY 5055 is crumpling paper and failing to print, the issue likely stems from misaligned paper, worn rollers, or debris in the paper path. Let’s walk through a few precise steps to help restore smooth feeding and crisp output.

Thank you for already trying to resolve this — I understand how disruptive it is when the paper doesn’t feed properly. Let’s bring back that clean, quiet glide through the printer.

1. Inspect and Reload Paper Carefully

  • Remove all paper from the input tray.
  • Fan the stack gently to separate sheets and check for curled or wrinkled edges.
  • Load only 10–20 sheets of fresh, plain paper with the print side facing down.
  • Adjust the paper width guides so they touch the edges without bending the paper.

2. Check for Obstructions and Clean the Paper Path

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the rear access door and gently remove any jammed or crumpled paper.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the rollers and path for:
    • Torn bits of paper
    • Dust or ink buildup
  • Clean rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.

3. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the rear.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This clears any stalled print jobs or mechanical misalignment.

4. Run the Paper Feed Cleaning Tool

  • Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device.
  • Go to Printer Maintenance > Clean Paper Feed
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the cleaning cycle.

5. Use the Correct Paper Type

  • Avoid glossy, photo, or thick specialty paper during troubleshooting.
  • Stick to plain A4 or Letter-size paper, 75–90 gsm.

6. Update Firmware

If the issue persists after these steps, I can guide you through a deeper mechanical check or help interpret any error codes or noises.

You’ve done a great job staying proactive — let’s keep that momentum going until your pages glide through smoothly.
