Hi  @bigguyintown,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how  a  paper jam can be  especially when it feels like you’ve tried everything and the access points just aren’t giving you enough room.
I want to help make this easier for you.

Could you please share the exact HP printer model number with me?

In the meantime, here are a few steps  that often help in situations like yours:

  1. Power cycle reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and restart. Sometimes this resets the rollers and clears hidden jams.
  2. Check rear access door: Many HP printers have a rear door or duplexer that can be removed to reach jammed paper. Even if the front tray is too small, the rear door often provides better access.
  3. Inspect paper path: Gently check the paper path with a flashlight. If you see torn pieces of paper, tweezers can help remove them without damaging rollers.
  4. Clean rollers: If rollers are dusty or worn, they may cause repeated jams. A lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water can help clean them.
  5. Use correct paper type: Make sure the paper matches the printer’s specifications  too thick or curled sheets often cause jams.

I hope this helps.
