@Parisavepaul, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer that doesn't print after the first page!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it must be when your printer starts printing but then stops after the first page. Let's try to get this sorted out!

  1. Check for Paper Jams: Even a small piece of jammed paper can cause printing to stop. Open all access panels and gently remove any debris.
  2. Inspect Ink/Toner Levels: Low or clogged ink cartridges can lead to incomplete prints. If your printer uses ink, try cleaning the printhead using the printer’s built-in cleaning function.
  3. Restart the Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  4. Verify Connection & Drivers:
    • If you're using a USB connection, try a different port or cable.
    • If it's a network printer, ensure a stable connection.
    • Update or reinstall printer drivers from the HP website.
  5. Check Print Spooler Service (Windows): Sometimes, stuck print jobs can cause issues. You can clear them by:
    • Pressing Win + R, typing services.msc, and finding Print Spooler
    • Right-clicking to Restart it

A Few Questions to Dig Deeper:

  1. Does the issue happen with all types of documents or only with certain files?
  2. Are you seeing any error messages or blinking lights on the printer?
  3. Is your printer connected via USB or Wi-Fi?

Let me know how it goes! Happy to assist further. 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
