I am trying to print invitations that are 4.33x6.69. The custom size is set up in the printer properties, but I can't change it on the printer panel itself and the paper jams every time I try to print. I am quite frustrated by it. It prints fine with letter size paper but jams with the invitation paper.

Hi @KatM66,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Printing custom-sized invitations with the HP ENVY 5055 All-In-One printer can sometimes be tricky, especially if the printer is jamming. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.
Verify Paper Specifications
Ensure that the paper you're using is within the specifications supported by your printer. For the HP ENVY 5055:
- Paper weight: 16 to 24 lb (60 to 90 g/m²)
- Paper type: Inkjet paper, photo paper, plain paper, etc.
Check Custom Paper Size Settings
Make sure the custom paper size is correctly set up in the printer properties on your computer:
Windows:
- Open the printer properties from the Control Panel or Settings.
- Go to the Paper/Quality tab and select Custom under the Paper Size drop-down menu.
- Enter the dimensions: Width: 4.33 inches (110 mm), Height: 6.69 inches (170 mm).
Mac:
- Open the Print dialog from the application you're printing from.
- Select Paper Size and choose Manage Custom Sizes.
- Add a new custom size with the dimensions: Width: 4.33 inches, Height: 6.69 inches.
Adjust Paper Tray and Guides
Make sure the paper tray is correctly adjusted for the custom size:
- Remove any paper from the tray and adjust the paper guides to match the size of your invitations.
- Ensure the guides are snug against the edges of the paper without bending or crumpling it.
Load Paper Correctly
Load the invitation paper correctly into the tray:
- Place a small stack of invitations into the tray (not too many to avoid overloading).
- Ensure the paper is aligned properly and the guides are adjusted.

Printer Firmware Update
Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues:
- Visit the HP support website.
- Enter your printer model (HP ENVY 5055) and check for firmware updates.
- Follow the instructions to download and install any updates.
Clean the Printer Rollers
Paper jams can also be caused by dirty rollers. Cleaning the rollers can help:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open the rear access door or duplexer (if applicable).
- Locate the rollers and gently clean them with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the access door and reconnecting the power.
Test with Different Paper
Try using a different brand or type of paper to see if the problem persists. Some papers are more prone to jamming than others.
Print a Test Page
Print a test page with the custom size settings to see if the issue is resolved. If the printer still jams, it might be necessary to contact HP support for further assistance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
