HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

The printer 8025e Product number 1K7K3A, squeals on the left side where the gears are as it prepares itself and when printing.  It sounds like it needs a good oiling.  I don't need a computer connection to get the problem.  Just powering up or lifting the lid to get at the printer ink and close it, no paper movement involved. This has done this since it was brand new 30 days ago.

Hi @kneeboard,

I'd like to help!

I understand the printer squeaks when printing.

Try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Check for jams and broken parts in the printer, for instructions refer to - Paper jam error

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried the steps suggested for the solution for printer squeaks.  The firmware was up-to-date, no jams were present.

The printer squeaks the same as before, when I make a copy and also after the the copy finishes.  It seems to be searching and squeaking with all the gears and it is not doing anything useful.

Can the machine be opened up to lubricate the shafts and gears?
