Hinge replacement is actually pretty straight forward and if you are careful you do not need to completely remove the ADF to replace the hinge. A helper makes this job much easier. Open the lid and remove the four screws that hold the hinge to the ADF itself. remove any broken pieces, have your helper hold the lid out of the way as much as possible without damaging the cables and then lift up the piece of hinge left in the body of the printer and use a small screwdriver to depress the tab on the front side of the hinge and lift it out of the body. (see picture below). Then insert the new hinge and screw everything together.
