Hi @Baylor104,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing too many papers that were taken in a feed and are now jammed.

Steps to Clear a Paper Jam

  1. Turn off the printer

Power it down and unplug it to avoid any accidental damage while working inside.

  2. Open all accessible areas

    • Lift the input tray and output tray.
    • Open the rear access door or duplexer (if your model has one).
    • Open the main cover to access the paper path.

  3. Remove jammed paper gently

    • Pull the paper slowly and evenly in the direction of the paper path.
    • Avoid tearing it—small scraps left inside can cause repeated jams.
    • If the paper is stuck in the feed rollers, rotate the rollers manually to release it.

  4. Check hidden spots

    • Look inside the rear access door.
    • Inspect under the print carriage area.
    • Make sure no small pieces are lodged in corners.

  5. Reset the rollers

    • Clean the rollers with a lint‑free cloth slightly dampened with water.
    • Let them dry before closing the printer.

  6. Reload paper correctly

    • Fan the stack of paper before loading.
    • Don’t overfill the tray—keep it below the maximum line.
    • Ensure the guides are snug against the paper edges.

  7. Restart the printer

Plug it back in, power on, and try a test print.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
