Hello,
All of a sudden, My computer/printer is asking me to got to the printer and flip the page in order to print 2-sided. It prints one page and then it needs to be re-inserted to print the second page.
Whereas, before the printer would flip the page automatically.
Any thoughts?

Hi @Tracey6060,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the automatic duplex printing feature on your printer might be disabled or misconfigured. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Check Printer Settings
Open Printer Properties:
- Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your printer and select Printer properties.
- Navigate to the Device Settings or Preferences tab.
- Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Options & Supplies.
- Go to the Options or Driver tab.
Enable Duplex Printing:
- Ensure that the option for automatic duplex printing is enabled. This might be labeled as Two-sided (Duplex) Printing, Print on both sides, or something similar.
Check Print Preferences
Open Print Preferences:
- When you print a document, go to the print dialog.
- Click on Preferences, Properties, or Printer Setup.
Enable Duplex Printing:
- Look for the Finishing or Layout tab.
- Select Print on Both Sides or Two-sided Printing.
- Ensure that it is set to Automatic rather than Manual.
Update Printer Driver
Download the Latest Driver:
- Visit the HP support website and download the latest driver for your printer model.
Install the Driver:
- Follow the installation instructions provided by HP.
- Restart your computer after the installation.
Firmware Update
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model.
Install the Firmware:
- Follow the instructions to install the firmware update.
Printer Reset
- Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the duplex printing function is restored.
By following these steps, you should be able to restore the automatic duplex printing feature on your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
