macOS 10.15 Catalina

Trying to print 120 lb card stock on my hp 7855 and the error message was to load more paper.

Based on the documentation,  the paper, within the paper type, is too heavy.

 

Assuming you could find / select "Card", 120 lb paper exceeds the limitations for what most (all?) inkjet printers will support.

 

You cannot select "Photo Paper" and then load and try to use Card paper - most printers can sense the difference and will result in a paper mis-match or equally frustrating error.

 

Want to Try again in spite of what the documentation says?

 

HP Brochure paper is 180 gsm -

If you can find / select the type in your Media list,

the paper type might work, might fail, might result in a paper jam.

Typically, for those printers that state they support "Card Paper", the weight limitations are:

163 to 200 g/m² (card)

90 to 110 lb (card)
