HP DeskJet 4155e
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, this is my first post, hope I worded it well.  Finding an All in One printer/scanner that's compatible with my setup is challenging now days. I do not have the capability to connect a printer to WiFi but can only connect it to my Windows 10 & 11 laptops with a USB cable and my laptops do not have continuous internet access but only when I go online to do online activities with a WiFi mobile hotspot which requires the WiFi capability of the laptop. I would like to use the Deskjet 4155e All in One printer/scanner. I have seen information and posts that seem to indicate the 4155e can be utilized exclusively with a USB only connection including for initial setup and ongoing use without ever actually requiring any WiFi connectivity or without requiring the host computer to have continuous internet access. I have also seen information and posts that seem to indicate the 4155e can be utilized exclusively using the offline capable Easy Start installed Full Feature software including for initial setup and ongoing use without ever actually requiring the use of the online dependent Smart app. But some information is mixed and confusing. Can anyone confirm that the 4155e can (or cannot) be setup and used (1) exclusively with a USB only connection, (2) with host computer that doesn't have continuous internet access, and (3) exclusively with the offline capable Full Feature software ? I realize this would not support all of the features and functionality that are available but it would support all of the functionality that I need. Any helpful information is very much appreciated.

Same question...sort of. My computer does not have a wifi card in it. It is currently connected to the internet through an ethernet cable and that's the ONLY way it can connect to the internet. So how do I setup and use this printer if my CPU does not have wifi capability? There has to be a way. The fact that the printer has a USB connection port that I can plug into my computer should make it simple, BUT the directions say I can't setup the printer this way - I have to do the initial setup via wifi. But that's not possible in my case. Frustrating. What's the work around?
