HP has really screwed the pooch by turning HP Smart over to Microsoft to download.  I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 Home, and even though I own HP Smart (in the MS Store) I cannot download it. "Starting" just runs and runs....  Yes, I'm signed in to Microsoft, which is against my better judgement, but they offer no support to download HP Smart.  It is still running on my old desktop computer.  Anyone can help?  Please???

My problem is not with scanning or operation of the printer.  It is with downloading HP Smart from the Microsoft store, which is the only place one can get it.  I sign into my MS account on the laptop, and MS still tells me "It looks like you have no applicable devices linked to your MS account."  Of course I do, that's how I signed in, and MS acknowledges my ownership of this computer.  I ran the HP Print and Scan doctor (I've run it before, a number of times) BUT THE ISSUE IS MICROSOFT!  HP offers no way to get around this problem.
