I need to update the firmware on my printer in order to use the new Web Services but I don't have a Windows PC. I have Chromebooks and a Chrome OS Desktop computer.
How can I update the firmware (I don't have the option from my printer's menu; I checked) if I don't have a Windows PC??

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
You can update the Printer Firmware by accessing the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Page of the Printer. To open the HP Embedded Web Server, type the IP address or hostname of the product in the address field of a supported Web browser. To find the IP address or hostname, print a configuration page.
-
On the EWS, click Tools or Web Services.
-
Click Printer Updates or Product Updates, and then click Check Now.
Let me know if this helps.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Thanks!
Have a great day!

Please access the Printer's EWS page using the IP address and follow the steps below:
-
Select the General tab.
-
In the left pane, select Firmware Upgrade.
-
Select Choose File.
NOTE:
If an Administrator password must be set warning message displays, select the Security tab, select the General Security option in the left pane, and then under the Set the Local Administrator password section, reset the password.
-
Browse to the location where the firmware files were extracted and select the .bdl file.
NOTE:
If there is more than one .bdl file on the storage device, make sure to scroll and select the correct file for the printer and firmware version.
-
Select Install, and then wait for the update process to complete.
NOTE:
Do not close the browser window or interrupt communication until the EWS displays the confirmation page. An update could take up to 30 minutes or more to complete.
-
On the EWS confirmation page, select Restart Now, or wait for the printer to reboot automatically (varies depending on the firmware version). If the printer does not reboot automatically, turn the printer Off and then On again.
NOTE:
The printer will automatically reboot unless the firmware is being downgraded. If downgrading firmware, select theRollback option.

I don't have a "General" tab and I looked under every tab, nothing is listed for updating firmaware nor printer.
I have the following tabs:
Status - System - Print - Fax - Networking - HP Web Services
I checked under Hp Web Services tab and only have the following on the left column:
Web Services Setup - Only option in here is to print config page or turn off web services.
HP Eprint
Apps
Proxy Settings
Please help me find the right solution to update. Thank you.

I recommend you connect the printer to a Windows Computer and then update the Printer's firmware:
