Cannot download driver for a Laserjet 1018 onto Windows 11

I just bought a new laptop which has Windows 11 loaded on it.

I cannot get a driver for a laserjet 1018 loaded.  Any advice?

I have the original CD but Windows 11 keeps telling me I do not have the printer plugged in.  HP website dies not have this driver option.

I understand you are looking for printer driver for Win 11 PC. I'm afraid, due to the age of the printer, there is no driver available for Win 11.

You may install the printer using Windows built-in driver

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.

Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.

If this does nor help, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

HP Laserjet 1018 oldy but goldy with Windows 11:

Its possible to install HP Laserjet 1018 with Windows 11 HOME version 21H2  quite with the standard procedure:
===================================================================================
Buetooth and Devices> Printer and Scanner>Add Device>"Update" 
Wait for the message like : The desired printer is not listed.
Hit:  Enter manually
Choose: Local printer or network printer with local settings 
Next
Use existing LPT1 Connection
Next
Producer: HP
Printer HP 1018
Next
...
