Thank you for replying with this overwhelming and detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Does that mean, you reinstalled the OS and now the printer is working fine?

If yes, I would recommend you change the automatic updates to manual for the time being to keep a control on what's installing in your PC and in turn prevent such issues in the future.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

@MikeKerins

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you aren't able to install the drivers for your printer,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Are you installing the drivers using the printer CD or are you using the HP website?

Did you attempt reinstalling the driver after the error appeared?

While you respond to that, here's a few things you can do:

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Once the above steps are done, Click here to install the drivers from the HP website,

you may use this link for the instructions on using the windows built-in drivers instead of the printer drivers from the HP website (in case the drivers aren't working): Click here

No, it did not resolve my problem. I ended up having to refresh my computer and then installing the print driver.
