Cannot ID printer over wireless to set-up.

I get DIRECT-20-HP-Deskjet 2700 Series which is the one I want to connect to however then requires a password that I do not have.

To complete HP setup, it asks me to enter the custom password, but I don’t have it - where do I get this?

@PETRAC1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are trying to connect the printer to the Mac. Wifi Direct is used if you do not have a wireless router. If you have a wireless router, use the WPS method to connect the printer - Wireless Printer Setup.

Note: There will be no internet connection on the Mac while the Mac and printer are connected via Wifi Direct.

For more info, refer to - HP printer setup (Wi-Fi Direct)

The default password is 12345678.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
