HP 4172 All-in-1-printer

Joining the Community is my last hope of sorting this exasperating issue. Basically, I have both a HP laptop (purchased in July last year) and an older HP Deskjet Printer - All-in-1  F4172 - which I am trying to link via USB. The printer worked fine on my old laptop and i have even put new cartridges in today.  I knew I would need to download the driver onto my present laptop but have been totally unable to do so as I will explain. Went to the HP site and was directed to download the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Installed this and followed the instructions. Each time I get as far as the screen which correctly identifies my printer version (it even shows me a nice picture of it) and prompts me to download the driver. However, no download box appears so I can't click or select the actual download itself. Infuriating and I am at a loss as to why this is.

Can anyone shed light on how I can actually get to the relevant driver download? I attach the page which is as far as I can get!
