I bought my HP Envy 4520 less than two years ago and it worked great until a couple of weeks ago, when the computer would no longer see the printer. I deleted the printer from the system preferences in the Mac and re-connected. This worked a couple of times, but eventually it stopped. Since the issues may have happened after an OS 10.13 update, I uninstalled the HP printer driver using HP EasyStart and then tried to reinstall the driver. EasyStart was able to connect to the printer and recommend software, which I downloaded, but then I get an error message that the softward could not be installed right now, "try again later." Later has not worked. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall a few more times but without any improvements. This happens irrespective of whether the printer is connected via USB to the computer or via WiFi. Would love to sort this out rather than buying a new printer...

Since the printer is already connected to your home WiFi, the easiest way to connect the printer to Mac would be using Apple AirPrint. If the Mac is connected to the same WiFi network as the printer, then you may use the following steps to setup the printer with Apple AirPrint:
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how it goes!
