My printer will scan and send to the computer. I can print from my phone and my son can print from his laptop. When I try to print from my desktop running windown 7, nothing happens. I went to settings and found the port it's using but when I try to configure it I get error message 0x0000007b.

@GD9,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I reviewed your post and understand that you are facing issues printing from your Desktop computer.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the printer was working fine?
- Are you getting any error when you print?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
While you respond to that, I recommend you root uninstall the printer on the desktop computer and then reinstall it.
Here is how it is done.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the PC
14.) Download and install the printer software from the below link.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
15.) Connect the USB cable ONLY when prompted and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how it goes. Awaiting your reply!

Good day! Take care 🙂

Hi there. The printer has never worked on my PC but My son has used it on his laptop without problems.
I installed the software from the internet, intending to use the printer wirelessly, however it will not print. I used both windows and the HP troubleshooters, neither of which see a problem. I have uninstalled all the software and deleted the printer a couple of times without resolving the problem.

@GD9,
It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.
I'm Raj1788 & I'm at your service.
As I see you can scan and also print from your phone, This clearly says that the printer is working fine.
This could be an issue with the operating system of the computer.
To do a double check on the printer try to make a copy and check if it is working fine.
If the copy is working fine, I suggest you Create a local user or administrator account using the below link.
Click here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-acc...
Then, Download the drivers using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-4520-all-in-one-printer-series/54...
Install the printer driver and try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

Hi Raj - I tried your suggestion but am still unable to print. My PC appears to sent the document to printer but when I look at 'see whats printing' there is nothing listed and no print appears. When I look at the printer port and try to configure it, I get the 0x0000007b error code still.
