Hi @Bigval78,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To scan documents from your HP printer to your desktop, follow these general steps.

  • Connect your printer to your computer: Ensure that your HP printer is properly connected to your desktop either via USB cable or through a wireless network connection.
  • Install HP printer software: Make sure you have installed the necessary drivers and software for your HP printer on your desktop. You can download the software from the HP website if you haven't already done so.
  • Place the document: Put the document you want to scan on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder (if your printer has one).
  • Use the printer's control panel: On your HP printer's control panel, locate the "Scan" or "Scan to Computer" option. The exact wording may vary depending on your printer model.
  • Select destination: Choose your desktop computer as the destination for the scanned document.
  • Adjust settings (optional): Depending on your preferences, you may want to adjust settings such as scan resolution, color mode, file type, etc.
  • Start scanning: Once you've configured the settings, initiate the scanning process from the printer's control panel.
  • Check your desktop: After the scan is complete, check your desktop computer for the scanned document. It should be saved in the location you specified during the scanning process.

If your HP printer has a dedicated scanning software installed on your desktop, you can also initiate scans from your computer instead of using the printer's control panel. Just open the scanning software, select the appropriate options, and start the scanning process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
