Hi @PHILIPSTAG,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing "ghost printing," where the printer appears to be functioning normally but doesn't actually print anything on the page. This issue can have several causes.

  • Incorrect settings: Ensure that you have selected the correct paper size and type settings in your printer's software. Envelopes usually require different settings than regular paper.
  • Improper paper handling: Make sure you're loading the envelope correctly into the printer's paper tray. Envelopes often need to be positioned properly to be picked up and fed through the printer correctly.
  • Printer driver issues: Sometimes, outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause printing problems. Try reinstalling the printer drivers or updating them to the latest version.
  • Printer calibration: The printer might need to be calibrated for envelope printing. Check the printer's manual or support documentation for instructions on how to calibrate it for envelopes.
  • Quality of the envelope: Ensure that the envelopes you're using are suitable for your printer. Some printers may have difficulty printing on certain types of envelopes or envelopes with unusual textures.
  • Ink or toner issues: Even if the cartridges print the test page OK, there might still be issues with the ink or toner flow. Try cleaning the printheads or performing a maintenance cycle to ensure proper ink or toner distribution.
  • Hardware problems: If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with the printer itself.

Try troubleshooting these possible causes to see if you can resolve the ghost printing issue with your envelopes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
