HP 3720
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

With a new router, I had to reinstall my HP Deskjet 3720 printer. Settings tells me the driver is unavailable.

I used the HP help to download the driver file, but get the same error message.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.

Type %temp% in the run field, and click OK.

Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

Open folder Util

Open folder CCC

Run the uninstall_ L4.bat

When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.

Type %programfiles% in the run field and click OK.

Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders

Download and install printer full feature drive

Click here to download the driver.

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Hi Sandy, that sounds promising but...

Within the temp folder, there are two 7z files, 7zS2B8D and 7zS363A

Neither contain a UTIL folder, but the latter contains a UTILS folder. This does not include a CCC folder

Neither folder, nor the sub-folders contain the install program.

Is there any other way to uninstall?

I do appreciate your help

Mike

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  2. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
  3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.
    • If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.
  4. Depending on the problem, click either Fix Printing or Fix Scanning.
  5. Test results are displayed with icons:

A checkmark means your printer passed.

A wrench means a problem was found and fixed.

An exclamation mark means a test failed and was skipped.

An X means the printer has a problem. Follow the instructions to fix it.

  6. HP Print and Scan Doctor shortcut is installed on your desktop.

Keep me posted, how it goes!
