Dear support team,

I am experiencing an issue with my new HP Color LaserJet Pro 4302 printer. Each time I send a print job the printer automatically prints an additional report page afterward.

This is wasting paper and toner and is disrupting my work. Please advise how I can disable this report both from the printer control panel and through the printer’s web interface using its IP address.

Please treat this as an urgent request.

This is what HP's AI has to say.

Extra “report” page printing on HP Color LaserJet Pro 4302

Based on the available information, the only closely related documented issue is when USB‑connected printers print an extra page with garbage characters or a “Connection: Keep-Alive” message after a print job, caused by recent Windows updates and mixed drivers.

In that documented case:

  • It occurs on USB‑connected printers when:

    • Both the Microsoft IPP printer driver and an OEM (such as HP) driver are installed.
    • The USB connection is refreshed or reinitialized.
    • After that change, the printer prints an extra page containing random text (for example, “Connection: Keep-Alive”).
  • Cause:

    • Microsoft has identified it as a Windows issue affecting multiple vendors.
  • Resolution:

    • Microsoft will release a fix in a future Windows update.
    • Temporary, OS‑specific workarounds are described in Microsoft’s “Known issues and notifications” pages for Windows 10 and 11.

If the “report” page you see looks like random text or mentions “Connection: Keep-Alive,” it is likely this issue. In that case, follow Microsoft’s guidance and temporary fixes in the appropriate Windows release-health article for your OS version until a permanent update is released.

If the page is a different kind of report (for example, a job status or configuration page with structured information), that behavior is not covered in the available data.

Possibly just deleting all HP drivers and doing a reinstall will fix the problem.

Run the following app from the command line

printui /s

delete all HP printer drivers

install the full feature driver

My total experience with MacOS was a hackintosh I built when Apple started using Intel CPUs years ago.

I would not have responded if you had mentioned MacOS.  Sorry.

I asked an AI about the problem, please review what the AI said here
