HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP

I moved this multifunction printer from one machine to another identical one in my same office building, both machines Dell Precision 3460 running Windows 11, both times connected via USB. When I tried to install the software direct from the HP support page for said printer, it *SAYS* it is installing, but it is not....? No scan utility, no nothing. I can print, but that's all. I tried removing the software, rebooting, and installing HP Smart from the Microsoft Store-- failed because it could not "find" the machine. So when I tried to contact HP Support about it, it asks for the serial number... which I got straight off the back of the machine... and it says my valid serial number is invalid! And it gives me absolutely no option to contact them without entering a "valid" serial number. What am I supposed to do now? I can't find a chat link, phone number, nothing. Thanks
