No help to you, Lavol, but I've just installed the new firmware that was released in July and it has un-bricked mine which is nice.

FWIW I always found I could print, as long as I held down the bottom lefthand corner when turning on (so as to get the "Permanent Storage Int" message) and had the printer plugged in. Actually working properly again now though - screen menus and everything. Which is nice.

Remember! my problem started after I have istalled new software, and I solve It after I install newest one!
If your problem has began fron another reason, then this method may be not corrected for You.

Hi,

Can you provide us the reset steps for my MFP M28a printer?

After the firmware update, i am not able to use my device (My pc does not recognize the printer).

If i go to device manager, the only printer founded is "hp rbx-load".

Waiting for your feedback.

Thanks.

Hi!
SORRY I am not HP support engineer. I dont know the model

Just like everyone else in this 9 page long thread, the HP firmware update ruined my printer. How about a fixed firmware? It's been months and months.

Pressing the red X and right arrow during startup do nothing. Holding down the bottom left corner brings up the "Permanent storage init." message, which never changes after hours. I can access the printer via IP address and can print a single page, after which the printer must be restarted to continue printing an additional single page. This is AWFUL!

Please provide me the old firmware, as well as any other potential solution.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177 Series Firmware Update

20200531 24.0 MB Jul 30, 2020   --------  This version !!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Dias_M, but no.

That's the firmware that broke my printer and what it's currently running. I've installed it multiple times via wi-fi and USB with no change.

I am Sorry.
There was a new software, but It was issued May,2020 and It had "broked" my printer.
Then HP issued new software 15-07-2020 version and fixed my problem.
If just this newest version has broke Your printer, may be You shoud renew other software on this page?
Because I have installed all the firmware.
