Bryan, your solution did not work for me.
I am on a MacBook running Catalina and am trying to connect to my Deskjet 2510.
I started getting "this will damage your computer" and malware warnings. I un-installed.
Anyone hear anything from HP on this?

Thanks for the suggestion Bryan. On following them I get some worrisome feedback. On restarting the computer I get the message "Inkjet.driver" will damage your computer. Report malware to apple to protect other users". In addition on rebooting, I discovered that the HP printer had already been reinstalled on my computer. I did not have to add it back. This also is different than your instructions. Could you advise at this point?

BryanCustomPure--A couple of additional follow-up items-- Despite the error message reported in the earlier message, I went ahead and tried to print something after installing your recommended package. I got another error message ""PDE.plugin will damage your computer" with the same malware report message as in my earlier message. In addition, nothing printed. The printer momentarily appeared on the task bar, showed the item and the promptly disappeared. When I check the print que nothing was there. Any advice?

I had that too. What I ended up doing is deleting the files they said were bad (I think ultimately I deleted all HP files), doing the install using Bryan's link, and printing returned. BUT scanning did not. About there same time I got the message that Software Update wanted to install drivers 5.1 from HP. I was afraid that it would start the issue up again, but it turns out ... it didn't! So between Bryan's link and the 5.1, I'm back in business.
Again, ironically, the computers in which I did not try to troubleshoot worked perfectly after Bryan's link was installed with no additional actions.

According to BryanCustomPure on Saturday 10/24 at 9:27 PM, "HP asked Apple to revoke the certification for the drivers.; So, in a security update (to MacOS), they (Apple) did just that. HP didn't realize it would nuke practically every Mac user using an HP printer and were totally unprepared."
If that is the case, when will HP demand that Apple put out another MacOS security update to correct this problem that has caused such widespread havoc for Mac users using dozens of different models of HP printers?
I am looking for an official "fix" from Apple and HP. I am very reluctant to try links to random third party solutions.
I am now using MacOS 10.14.6 (Sahara). I do not want to do anything to preclude me from updating to Catalina in the future, although I am happy with Saraha for now (except for this frustrating printer problem).

I tried downloading the file at the link provided by BryanCustomePure but it failed to download successfully showing an unknown error part way through. I tried it almost 10 times with the same result. In desperation I found on another website "The previously revoked signature has now been unrevoked, as of the night of 24-25 October. Your old HP printer software should now work correctly again." I uninstalled my printer then reinstalled it again and now it works fine. (It is a 15 yr old HP PSC 1317 so if it works I'm sure everyone else's should!).

Thanks Nidostar. I used HP Uninstaller to remove everything, then reAdded the printer through the System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and let it find the drivers and set itself up. I did not deliberately go to the HP site to download drivers. It finally did the trick today and I got it to print. I did get the malware warning though.

I just tried, but it appear 'Printing - Waiting for printer to become available' and on the top 'Connecting to Device'.
I tried to uninstall and install everything, delete the printer and add it again, it's getting better, but still can't print.
Anyone can give some tips if they had same problem? Im using a Hp Deskjet 2050, bought it 10years ago or maybe more, it works perfectly until the certificate experied days ago..
