Does anyone know how to do a hard reset of a Photo Envy 7155?  After unplugging the printer then plugging it back in the screen shows a loading bar and some dots below it. Boot progress freezes after the bar is full, but with all but one of the dots empty.  I've tried changing power outlets, removing ink cartridges (authentic HP), re-plugging the printer while holding power button, etc..  I’ve also followed other advice in similar support threads with no luck. I need find a way to do a hard reset when you can't access the menu.  HP won't respond to any of my support requests so I'm hoping someone has an idea.

Hi@TimboPDX,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Photo Envy Printer and looking to reset the Printer.

As the printer is stuck. The factory reset will not work in this case. For a factory reset to work, you will have to access the home screen of the printer.

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

If this does not help, unplug the power cable and hold the power button down for 10-15 seconds and release it. Power on the printer and check.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
