I have just purchased an HP Envy Inspire 7920e and am baffled at how to get it to double side print. It will do it manually but not automatically as my eight year old HP Envy 4504 will do. Have I overlooked something in the set up or software or is my new £150 printer incapable of doing what my old cheap and cheerful printer can do? The printer dialogue box in Word only allows for single sided or manual double sided printing as does the dialogue box in WordPerfect 2021 ( the automatic option being grayed out).

Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.
Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.
Regards,
Shlomi

I have the same question about double side printing. My 9 year old HP LaserJet Pro 400 m401dne worked fine with my old ACER computer which I replaced a month ago with an HP Pavilion All-in-one Tower. My printer still works fine with an updated driver but the only thing it can't do any longer is printing on both sides.

I tried to follow Shlomil's instructions but it didn't work. I keep getting a message to update my printer server but the only one available is the LaserJet Pro 400 M401 PCL5 Class Driver which does not allow double sided printing. That's a shame but I guess I will have to live with printing odd # pages and then flipping them over to print on even # pages. Is there a way to install an Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessary and where can I get one?

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried what you outlined below but it didn't work. However this morning the HP Support Assistant app told me that an update was available. I have downloaded the update which seems to have been a complete set of drivers (rather than the Microsoft Raster drivers that were already installed). I now have duplex printing. Hooray! Thank you for your advice.
