Microsoft Windows 11

I bought a printer which stated ran off USB, but needed wireless to set up, and apparently  actually needs to be connected wirelessly to even print.

I can set up using wireless, but want to print using USB cable only.

You should be able to use USB only. What is your printer ?

I bought an HP 8020e. I was told it could run via USB, but it needed wireless both to set up, and also each time you print. Also, it was different to the manual in a couple of ways, one being that the manual showed 2 USB ports and I sure as anything couldn't find them on the printer. I've returned it now. I can handle needing wireless to set up, but I'd like the option of USB cable printing.

Sorry, it is a printer with e of the HP Plus (+) family therefore you need to use wireless to set up first, The instructions say:

Do not use USB for setup

Printers with a label covering the USB port must be set up with HP Smart and a network connection. After setup, you can print using a USB cable if needed.

You also need a Printer cable (USB) which is similar to

The round end does to the USB port at its back ans the flat one goes to your computer.

Firstly you can use the following way to setup
