The files seem to be gone. Sorry. I can't find them on HPs FTP site. I even checked with an FTP search engine. Nothing.

Any chance you still have them on your local system and can upload somewhere? 

I am desperate. 

HP really screwed up this time, terrible quality in testing their own firmware releases. it does not work for anybody!

I really need the latest FW as it has the cloud cert fix, hence I cannot use my printer in cloud mode (which is the only reason I have it). if you have the old files on your system and can upload pls let me know.

So here is the solution for Windows 10 to update the firmware:

 

Setup m127fw on network

Login to HP m127fw Web Interface

Go to "HP Smart Install" tab

Download and install drivers from this package

Once complete install the firmware update which should now work (no Chinese characters either)

Unfortunately there is not a "HP Smart Install" tab.

Sorry, I do not. I deleted them thinking HP would always have them.

You are great! Did you try it wit hthe nov 3 firmware release? I need the cloud cert which is included in the nov 3 release. as you know, the cloud cert is hp's public key updated. I dont know why HP didnt fix their firmware update tool when releasing? 

 

Any chance you have been able to use the update tool with the latest nov 3 2020 firmware?

I tried the solution with a newer version of the firmware but it did not work.

 

But you can try and see if you are luckier than me (perhaps I made a mistake).

How did you islolate the new ACL file to use with the old updater exe? 

Did you unpack the exe using a zip or do you know where it defaults to extract to?
