Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Am majorly furious! Just upgraded PC from Windows 7 Pro to 10 Pro. Wireless printer wouldn't work after update. Did 2 days of research to find remedy. Nothing worked. Finally ended up w/Microsoft telling me to uninstall & reinstall printer. SOOO...I uninstalled all printer software, tried to reinstall...got an HP message that the software can't be installed on my system, that it can only be installed on XP & Windows 7, & to "upgrade" my system. What does this even mean?! So now I've gotten rid of my printer installation & can't even reinstall it!! To top it off, I can't even talk to a live person about this. Any great ideas from anyone??!!

@MlK-R Welcome to HP Community!

I understand the frustration that you're experiencing. It is possible that Windows is not detecting and installing the printer correctly.

When you're installing the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Printer do not have any other printers plugged in USB.

Please follow the steps within these guides:
